Allen is a certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and also serves as our Clinical Coordinator. He grew up in East Earl and is a graduate of Garden Spot High School. After high school, Allen pursued his dental career at York Technical Institute. He says he chose the dental field because he felt it is both challenging & rewarding. “When you help a patient who has been in pain and he or she leaves the office with a smile, it’s well worth all the work and effort.” Allen enjoys meeting new people, working to achieve practice goals and meeting patients’ treatment expectations. When not in the office, he enjoys traveling, skiing, and jet skiing with his wife. He’s a connoisseur of Mediterranean Cuisine and homemade lasagna. His hobbies include reading business books and he’s also an avid car enthusiast.
Kathy started her life long career in dentistry in 1993 and served as a certified dental assistant. She did take an opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom for several years and then returned to dentistry in 2013. She then pursued and obtained her Expanded Functions Dental Assisting license from the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center. Kathy chose the dental field because she is passionate about making a difference in patients' lives, one smile at a time. She is compassionate and gentle and works to ensure that all patients have positive, comfortable experiences.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending as much time as possible with her husband since they are now "empty nesters." They love to go kayaking, enjoy trying craft beers at local microbreweries and going out for dinner on date nights. Their oldest child serves in the National Guard, their middle child is a senior at the Cortland State University studying business and their youngest is a freshman at Bloomsburg University.
Mark has been in dentistry since 2011. He completed his dental assistant training at the Career and Technology Center in Willow Street and then pursued and obtained his Expanded Functions Dental Assisting license from Harcum College. Mark grew up in Lancaster County and graduated from Conestoga Valley High School. He currently resides in Lancaster City with his beloved dog, Daisy. In his free time, he enjoys participating in mud runs; navigating courses consisting of various obstacles, many of which are filled or covered with mud, of course. Shelly - Treatment Coordinator
I grew up in Lancaster County and graduated as a Dental Assistant in 2004 from Lancaster County Career and Technology Center in Willow Street. I have extensive experience with numerous roles in the dental field including Dental Assistant, Hygiene Assistant, Hygiene Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. This experience has helped me gain an understanding of all aspects of a successful dental practice. I enjoy working with people and helping them understand their insurance plans as well as explaining treatment options to ultimately attain a new, healthy smile! I currently reside in New Holland with my husband and two children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book and catching a movie when I have a chance. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you at your next appointment!
Gina - Treatment Coordinator
Gina was born and raised in Chester County, PA and just recently moved to the Ephrata area. She started her lifelong career in dentistry in the early 90's and received training at Harcum College where she earned her certification as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant. Gina has extensive experience in the dental field and has worked chair side in general, pediatric and oral surgery practices. She has also supported teams as the clinical team leader, took initiative as an implant coordinator, served as a treatment coordinator and office manager. The highlight of her 20+ years in dentistry is that she has been part of many life-changing transformations. From the patients who suffered from severe dental phobias, and ultimately became relaxed patients, to the individuals who were embarrassed about the appearance of their teeth and now stand confidently in front of a crowd and smile. It gives Gina great joy to support our patients and assist them in coordinating benefits, developing financial arrangements and ultimately helping them achieve the smiles they have always desired.
Gina has two daughters, a grandson, a granddaughter and one very spoiled Morkie named Merlin! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and camping and motorcycling with her boyfriend, Rob. Gina also loves striking up her tree, warrior and cobra poses at yoga class and trying tantalizing new foods with the perfect wine pairings.
Emily - Patient Advocate
I've been with Ephrata Family Dentistry since 2011 and have enjoyed getting to know our patients and their families. I currently reside in Wernersville with my husband and two children, who keep me laughing on a daily basis. My husband and I love the outdoors and take advantage of every opportunity to pack up our car and go camping or head to the beach. Our family has a small place in Dagsboro, DE where we spend as much time as we possibly can.
